Elizabeth McGee, Ph.D.

Elizabeth McGee, Ph.D. is a psychologist and associate at Lewis Consulting Services.  She is a North Carolina native who attended Wake Forest University and earned a B.A. with honors in Psychology.  She then earned her master’s degree in Psychology at The College of William & Mary and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. McGee is licensed by the North Carolina Psychology Board and is a member of the North Carolina Psychological Association. She is experienced providing psychotherapy for adults, adolescents and children.

Dr. McGee has specialized training in the treatment and evaluation of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and has conducted research focused on children with ADHD and anxiety. She worked as a Research Assistant at Duke University Medical Center on an NIMH funded multi-site research project studying the treatment of children with ADHD. Dr. McGee provides evaluations and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD; including family therapy and parent training for children with ADHD.

Dr. McGee enjoys helping clients of all ages overcome anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders and behavior and conduct problems. Dr. McGee employs assessment skills and empirically validated treatments from a variety of theoretical backgrounds including interpersonal, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral. For her younger clients, Dr. McGee’s interventions include play therapy, behavioral plans and family therapy. She also teaches parenting classes for separated and divorced parents.
